- Prepare meals and manage dietary interventions appropriate to a client's health needs
- Use AI tools responsibly to support caregiving work while verifying health-related information before acting on it.
- Certain physical-skill units (First Aid, House Keeping, Special Needs Care, and Caregiving and Catering) require a supervised in-person practicum in addition to the online coursework to certify hands-on competency
Curriculum
Orientation unit — not part of the official TVET CDACC curriculum pack, but placed first so a student understands what the caregiver role involves and why it matters before the formal units begin. Covers day-to-day responsibilities, why caregiving matters, the scope and boundaries of the role, and core professional qualities.
Module I, Unit 1 of the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum (Unit Code HW/CU/HBC/CR/01/3/MA, ISCED 1011 251 01A, 60 hrs / 6 credits). Covers cleaning services, bed making, and laundering articles and fabrics.
Module I, Unit 2 of the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum (Unit Code HW/CU/HBC/CR/02/3/MA, ISCED 0915 251 02A, 50 hrs / 5 credits). Covers establishing dietary needs, drawing an individualized feeding care plan, carrying out feeding interventions, and continuous dietary monitoring.
Module I, Unit 3 of the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum (Unit Code HW/CU/HBC/CR/03/3/MA, ISCED 0915 251 03A, 70 hrs / 7 credits). Covers assessing emotional and social needs, providing emotional and social support, and self-care.
Module I, Unit 4 of the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum (Unit Code HW/CU/HBC/CR/04/3/MA, ISCED 1015 251 04A, 50 hrs / 5 credits). Covers researching the destination country, processing travel documents, the travel process, and work ethics/legal aspects.
Module II, Unit 1 of the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum (Unit Code HW/CU/CG/CC/01/4/MA, ISCED 0913 351 06A, 60 hrs / 6 credits). Covers assessing injury or illness, first aid interventions, evaluating first aid, and winding up.
Module II, Unit 2 of the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum (Unit Code HW/CU/CG/CR/01/4/MA, ISCED 0915 351 07A, 180 hrs / 18 credits). Covers previous preparation, preparing and presenting meals, and post-production tasks.
Module II, Unit 3 of the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum (Unit Code HW/CU/CG/CR/02/4/MA, ISCED 0913 351 08A, 120 hrs / 12 credits). Covers care for geriatrics, terminally ill, mentally ill, and disabled clients, children with special needs, and psychosocial support activities.
Supplementary unit, not part of the official TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum pack. Covers facility orientation, infection prevention, admissions documentation, handling medical supplies, reporting, and recording vital signs.
