CAREGIVING prepares learners to provide competent, professional care in homes, hospices and healthcare facilities — from housekeeping and dietary support through first aid, catering, and specialised care for geriatric, terminally ill, mentally ill, disabled, and special-needs clients. The course is built on the TVET CDACC Caregiving Level 4 curriculum, with a short orientation unit up front and three supplementary units layered in for practical, workplace-facing skills.
An individual pursuing the full qualification is also required to complete a minimum of 480 hours of industrial (workplace) training in the health care sector, arranged separately from the units below.
