AI in Education Course
A fully online course for schools: how teachers can recognise and respond to AI-assisted homework, how learners can use AI without shortcutting their own learning, and how school management can set real AI policy — built around a real Kenyan classroom, not generic AI hype.
Why This Course Exists
Teachers across Kenya are already dealing with students using AI tools to shortcut homework — this course was built to answer that directly, alongside the wider question of how AI can be used well across every part of a school, not just to catch misuse. It is grounded throughout in a real school scenario (fictional Uwezo High School, Eldoret) with a teacher, a deputy principal, and a student, so every technique is concrete rather than abstract advice.
The course covers the real, documented limitations of AI-detection tools like Turnitin — including their false-positive risk for non-native English writers — so that a teacher acting on this course’s advice does not end up unfairly accusing an honest student. It also covers Kenya-specific compliance: the Data Protection Act 2019, ODPC registration, and Children Act 2022 safeguarding duties, not generic international guidance repackaged for Kenya.
Choose Your Tier
The course is split into four separately priced tiers, so you only pay for the content relevant to your role. All four share the same Foundations module and can be taken independently.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which tier to enroll in?
Learners and Teachers are the two most commonly enrolled tiers. If you’re a school administrator responsible for policy, budget or safeguarding, the Management tier covers that specifically. Parents can take the Parents tier independently of what their child’s school offers.
Is this course fully online?
Yes, all four tiers are delivered fully online through MTTI’s learner portal, with interactive lessons, scenario-based practicals, and quizzes.
Why is the pass mark 90% instead of the usual 50%?
This course family was deliberately set to a stricter 90% pass mark to keep the certification meaningful for a subject this practically important — the rest of MTTI’s courses use a 50% pass mark.
Does this course tell teachers how to catch every AI-written assignment?
No course honestly can, and this one says so directly — it teaches the real, documented limitations of AI-detection tools (including their false-positive risk) alongside practical, fairer techniques like redesigned assessments and structured conversations with students.
